Can it be said that iconoclasm and Islam in India are synonymous? Starting with the destruction of Somnath by Mahmud of Ghazni in the eleventh century (1024 A.D) and continuing into the 21st in Kashmir (India), Pakistan and Bangladesh, the heinous crime has continued. Enough is enough. Thousand of mandirs have been replaced by masjids. Now the time has come for Hindus to reclaim their heritage. If all the 3000 odd mandirs can't be returned at once, at least the beginning must be made with the Krishna janmabhoomi at Mathura and the Kashi Vishwanath site at Varanasi by removing the hideous Gyan Vapimasjid (named after the sacred well).
There are any number stretching from Bengal in the east to Gujarat in the west to Karnataka in the south. But Muslims should begin by gracefully returning the holiest of mandirs of Sri Krishna and Shankar Bhagwan. Or else they would provoke a Hindu revolution which could sweep across all the desecrations.
